1st Game Design Idea (Prototype)


Game Development Document (GDD)

Game Title: Invaders

Game Purpose: To teach elementary through undergrad students about the importance of cybersecurity, the risk of hackers and viruses, and methods on how to improve personal security on the internet.

Game Objective(s): 1. Navigate playable character to each house on the main street to search for invaders

2. Once invader has been detected, determine what their plan of attack is.

Singular attacks (happen in one house per level) a. Trojan attack b. Phishing attack c. Worm attack d. DDOS attack (Distributed Denial-of-Service) Common attacks (can happen at multiple homes on the main street) - Password attack - Malvertising attack

3. Devise your plan of attack to counter them

4. Enter battle simulation to carry out your planned method of attack

a. Loss scenario- player is presented with a “You Lose” screen and offered 2 tips to help them be victorious during their next playthrough. b. Win scenario- player is presented with a “You Win” screen and shown 2-3 facts about why their method worked and how to counteract these cyber-attacks in reality before returning to main street.

5. Find all security threats on the main street and stop them to move on to the next level.

Characters: Player Controlled - Cyi - Crypto - Dice

NPC - Troy - Sal-man - Anne - D.D. - Boss

Development platform style: - 2D - Free roam - Point and click adventure
