Fall Research 2018: Week 31

This week, I helped refine the emails about TCP SYN flood and added graphic that shows how network traffic flows. This added to the key concept pages of the game, one for TCP SYN and one for network layout. I also added text that explains concepts such as botnets and assault machines in relation to DOS/DDoS attacks. For instance, the game explains that a botnet is a system of zombie PCs modified to receive commands without the owners' knowledge.

Additionally, I began working on the CREU final report for the year. To contribute, I began going through the scholarly works we collected to find the ones that were most relevant to our purpose. I then read through them again to gain a general summary of what the authors were attempting in their work. Next week, we will be working on implementing the pre and post test questions into the game for learning evaluation and completing the final CREU report.
