Fall Research 2017: Week 16
This was our first full week of classes and our first team meeting of the new semester. To begin, we first determined the effectiveness of adding the obstacles to make the game more challenging. We determined that adding 2 other obstacles, in addition with the "bad worms", and a timer would deliver a high enough difficulty level. At the end of the week, we met with our project leader. During our meeting, we discussed the inclusion of voice-to-text abilities to remove the necessity of reading everything on screen. We also talked about how to include relative examples of security threats and tips on internet safety.
Our project leader gave us files and pictures that represent phishing attempts. This way, the examples in the game are realistic examples students and others could run into online. We also determined that the learning portion and review portion should take place in separate scenes after the player completes the level. I took on the responsibility of researching the voice-to-text addition and organizing the questions within the new review scene this week. Next week, my partner and I will test the changes on mobile devices to ensure they work properly.
