Fall Research 2017: Week 12
This week I spent time putting together assets for our current game related to our research on DDoS. I created an office scene in Unity in which there is a central server and computer. The idea behind this is that the player will be entered into this office scene and be guided around. As they are guided, they are taught different terms and concepts behind DDoS with the computer and server used for examples. After being guided through this process, their view will become that of the computer desktop. At this point, their responsibility will be to carry out ordinary "office tasks" until they receive an alert that a DDoS attack is taking place. At this point, they will be have to decide what procedure to use to handle the type of DDoS attack. This will give the player a realistic sense of what mitigating a DDoS attack is like.
