Fall Research 2018: Week 18
This week I started working on a UI for sending packets to simulate a DDoS attack. First, I read a published paper on DDoS simulation to give me a better idea of how to move forward. I determined that having a rate of data flow for the user was essential. Also, the player needed a way to visualize all the activity that goes on during an attack on the network, so I began to explore the ability to create histograms and line charts in Unity. Lastly, I began work on a UI for showing how many packets have been sent over the network, how many are being received, the computer number where activity is taking place, and the bandwidth being used. Moving forward, these two UI systems will be the most difficult to complete because of the scripts needed to bring correct functionality to them.
