Fall Research 2018: Week 19

This week I continued work on our office game scene. My overall goal of this scene is to create a UI environment similar to a computer screen. This will be the focus of the player to manage the DDoS attacks. Once the player selects a computer from within the scene, they will be presented with a computer screen with a button that says "Send Packets" and an entry field with the title "Packet Rate". This UI will maintain the flow of the data packets on the network to kickstart the DDoS attack. Once a DDoS attack starts, an influx of packets will come in at a rate specified by the user. It will then be the player's responsibility to check for errors on the system topology to address them and keep the network moving smoothly. Each successful attempt will increase the difficulty of the level. I also began working on a C# script to allow visualization of the effect the DDoS attack has on the network. This will include a line graph that allows the player to see the rise and fall of activity as the DDoS attack kicks in.
